Notes on Decaf El Gato Espresso
Decaf El Gato Espresso is roasted to our Espresso Roast giving it a slightly smokier flavor than the rest of our decaffeinated coffees. Though intended for use in an espresso machine, Decaf El Gato Espresso is an excellent coffee for slow brewing in a filter-drip device or a French press, especially for decaf lovers looking for a slightly darker roasted decaf. The blend of soft Indonesian beans used give this blend a hearty, earthy flavor with subtle nuances of leather and tobacco, and herbal aromas. While not overly aggressive in milk, the blend will cut through enough to make itself known, and is also extremely enjoyable as a straight shot of espresso.

Blend Notes
Decaffeinated coffees are often overlooked, but when it comes to espresso Inland Empire Coffee won't skimp. Decaf El Gato is a blend of Indonesian coffees decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process(TM). And features a rich syrupy body with a heavy mouth feel and low acidity. This is our house decaf espresso blend. The Swiss Water Process(TM) is a certified organic, chemical-free method used for decaffeinating coffee. Green coffee is first soaked in water to release flavors and solubles that also contain caffeine. This liquid is then passed through a series of carbon filters, which work to filter out caffeine. The coffee is then "recharged" with this flavorful liquid and dried for market.

Cupping Notes
Earthy and rich in body. Notes of tobacco and dark chocolate are enhanced in milk.
